In Krishna consciousness there is never a dull moment. We have so much to learn and so much to do to awaken the Krishna consciousness within our hearts and within the hearts of all living beings that there is no question of ever being bored. Instead of wondering what to do, we are wondering how to squeeze more and Krishna consciousness into our 24 hours in order to get the maximum benefit for ourselves and for the suffering humanity.

Question: What Determines Our Return to Krishna?

All glories to Sri Guru and Gauranga!
All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
Please accept my respectful obeisances!

If a devotee is not initiated yet but is dedicated to Krishna, and if he leaves his body could he return to Krishna? And, if another devotee is initiated but violates the regulative principles can he return to Krishna? What determines our return to Krishna, and how do we do it?

Thank you for your inspiring answers.

Answer: One Has to Be Fully Surrendered to Krishna

Krishna states in the Bhagavad-gita that if we are fully surrendered to Him, He will deliver us. So this is the key. One must be fully surrendered unto Krishna in order to go back to home, back to Godhead. If someone has fully surrendered to Krishna, he will either be an initiated devotee or seriously preparing himself to be an initiated devotee, because Krishna orders, as confirmed in the Adi Purana, that we must become the devotee of His devotee if are to be surrendered unto Him. Such a surrendered devotee, who is strictly following the rules and regulations of bhakti yoga, is a fit candidate for regaining the spiritual world at the time of his death. On the other hand, even if someone is an initiated devotee, if he is not strictly following the regulative principles, he is not qualified for going back to home, back to Godhead because of his still being attached to material sense gratification. He will have to rectify his fallen position in order to become qualified to enter the Lord's transcendental kingdom.
