Intensive But Ecstatic Nine Lecture Marathon

Our brief weekend stopover in Toronto on our way to India was not for rest and relaxation. It was an intensive preaching workout of giving nine lectures in four different locations. In spite of going three nights with insufficient sleep, the absorption in Krishna consciousness was absolutely exhilarating. The fact is that the more we become absorbed in Krishna consciousness, the more we become enriched with spiritual happiness. This weekend was a golden opportunity to become deeply, deeply absorbed in meditation on the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Sri Krishna and thus reconnect myself and my audiences with our original transcendental nature.

Question: Krishna Appears Without Being Born?

Gurudeva, I have heard that Lord Krishna was never born, that He merely appeared without being born. How is that possible?

Your servant,

Nidhi

Answer: Krishna Possesses Inconceivable Potency

Krishna is the controller of the laws of material nature. He is not under their control. Therefore He can easily appear anywhere He chooses without having to go through the process known as birth. In this connection Srila Prabhupada explains as follows in the Krishna Book:

"The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krishna, who is always ready to protect His unalloyed devotees, entered within the mind of Vasudeva as the Lord of the whole creation, with full inconceivable potencies. It is understood in this connection that Lord Krishna first of all situated Himself in the unalloyed heart of Vasudeva and was then transferred to the heart of Devaki. He was not put into the womb of Devaki by seminal discharge. The Supreme Personality of Godhead, by His inconceivable potency, can appear in any way. It is not necessary for Him to appear in the ordinary way, by seminal injection within the womb of a woman."

We are eternally indebted to Srila Prabhupada for so clearly revealing to us the transcendental glories of Lord Sri Krishna.
