I am immensely grateful to your grace for showering your mercy through answering all my ignorant questions. I am able to convince my conscious mind through your instructions and able to chant better, recently I tasted what attentive chanting looks like for the very first time and I strive to achieve that daily.

Srila Gurudev, despite my disqualifications I am given the service of giving Sunday feast lecture at our Iskcon Ottawa temple. But I do not know what to answer if someone asks why to chant Hare Krishna Mahamantra only that ISKCON is following, when there is this Om chanting or Om meditation popularly followed worldwide ?

Although In Bhagavad Gita 7.8 purport, Srila Prabhupada mentions in purport that - "Because the impersonalists are very much afraid of addressing the Supreme Lord Kṛṣṇa by His innumerable names, they prefer to vibrate the transcendental sound oṁ-kāra" ,
Please enlighten more scientific ways to prove to the crowd that Hare Krishna Mahamantra is the ONLY means to control the mind, how can I convince them 🙏🙇‍♀️

Srila Gurudev, with unlimited inspiration I get from your grace, I strive to become a better servant, and be able to share your teachings, please bless me with your instructions and mercy 🙏

My Dear Sasikala,

All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

But we don't say to only chant Hare Krishna. But we recommend Hare Krishna as the most powerful and effective mantra for chanting. Om chanting is also very nice because says "I am Om." in the Bhagavad-gita. But Hare Krishna chanting is much, much better. By chanting Hare Krishna once you get the benefit of chanting Om a million times.

Om is an impersonal manifestation Krishna. Om is contained within Hare Krishna. So when you chant Hare Krishna you are automatically chanting Om. But Hare Krishna is not contained within Om. Here is an example
to help you understand the difference:

One may appreciate light coming lamp, but his knowledge is still incomplete. But when he understands the lamp which
is producing the light his knowledge is complete. In this example Om is like the light and Krishna is like the lamp.
When the lamp is there the light is automatically there.

Another example is that you may appreciate a person’s car. But you meet the person who owns the car the experience is much more appreciable.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
