Don't Be a Fault Finder
20 January 2025
Srila Prabhupada writes in his purport to Bhagavad-gita 16.13:"Apaiśunam means that one should not find fault with others or correct them unnecessarily. Of course to call a thief a thief is not faultfinding, but to call an honest person a thief is very much offensive for one who is making advancement in spiritual life."
In this connection also the famous American philosopher Henry David Thoreau wrote, "The fault-finder will find faults even in paradise." This is actually our position we were living in the paradise of the spiritual world, but we found fault with it because somebody else (Lord Sri Krishna) is the center of enjoyment, not us. That's why are here now suffering in this material world.
Sometimes we see that the student wants to find fault with their teacher for finding fault with them, but this is against the Vedic principles because it is the duty of the teacher to find faults in the student. In this connection Srila Prabhupada in a lecture he have on April 24, 1972 in Tokyo quotes Canakya Pandit as follows:
So father and teacher is advised by Cāṇakya Paṇḍita that "You should always chastise your son and disciple. Chastise." Tāḍayet. Tāḍayet means "Simply chastise. Always find out mistake." Don't be angry, but it is the business of the teacher and the father simply to find out your mistake, not to find out your good things. Tāḍayen na tu lālayet. Lālayet means patting: "Oh, my dear son, my dear boy, you are so nice. You have done..." Sometimes it is done, but it is the business of the teacher and the father to chastise.
So let us always be eager for our spiritual master to find fault with us and not be in the business of finding fault with others, especially with our spiritual master, which is most offensive. This is the sum and substance of what Srila Prabhupada has taught us in this regard.

All glories to Srila Prabhupada
Lord Krsna says in BG 9.25, than those who worships Him go to His abode, and those who worships demigods will go to that demigod's abode. Prabhu my question is those who worships multiple demigods where will he go?
Your servant,
Amrita
Answer
My Dear Amrita,
Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
He won’t go to any of the demigods' planets. To go to a particular demigod’s planet requires rigid performance of the strict respective method for worshipping that particular demigod. Worshipping many demigods means that one is not performing the proper worship for any of them and thus will not go to any of the demigods' planets.
I hope this meets you in the best of health.
Your ever well-wisher,
Sankarshan Das Adhikari
