Drops of Water Wear Away the Stone

After officially founding the International Society for Krishna Consciousness in New York City on 13 July 1966 Srila Prabhupada traveled around the world by jet many times, opening centers, visiting disciples, and managing the affairs of the society in person and by mail. Yet, wherever he was, he translated at night by speaking into a dictaphone. He usually took his evening rest at around 10 or 11 P.M. and then rose at 1 or 2 A.M. to translate the verses of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. Wherever he went he took the dictaphone with him and translated, even if only a single page was done in a night. “Little drops of water wear away the stone,” he said. “In this way I have written all these books.”

Just see how much his steadiness and determination in all situations paid off enabling him to write the most authoritative and relevant literatures the world has ever seen.

Prabhuju I need your guidance. Due to some bitter experiences in the past I don't want to go for job. But elders of my family are materialistic and they consider material success everything. They feel only money is measurement of success. They make me feel bad about myself. I love doing household work and Thakurji seva. I know every household work. Am I a failure because I don't earn?

If you always remember Krishna you are the most successful person in the whole world. Sending women to the workplace to earn money is a modern invention of this
materialistic age of Kali. Even in the USA when I grew up in
the 50’s practically all of the women were stay-at-home moms cooking, cleaning, making the atmosphere at home very nice, and raising the kids. I still have the fondest memories of my mother, Carolyn Bridge, after she finished
her housework she would play the big piano we have in our living room and glorify God by signing Christian hymns. It is indeed quite sad that in the modern day Westernized world
that even in India they think that all of the women should get jobs and earn money.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
