Do Not Be Cheated

Do not be cheated by the materialistic propaganda mongers, who constantly encouraging you to drink this, eat this, smoke this, and sex with this. They have a motive up their sleeves. They want to use you to provide them with more and more of their own material sense gratification. Instead of being under their influence, you should be under the influence of the great acaryas, the great saintly teachers, the spiritual masters who want to deliver you from all of your material suffering and take you back to home, back to Godhead, back to your original home in that most sublime and divine spiritual world.

Question: How to Avoid Husband's Pride?

Dear Srila Gurudeva,

Please accept my humble obeisances at your lotus feet.
All glories to You and Gurumata.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

I hope this mail finds you well and in an ecstatic mood.

I was reading SB 2.4.20 and I want to make sure if I understood correctly the following sentences in Srila Prabhupada's purport: » The conditioned soul is very proud of becoming the husband of even one wife, but the Lord laughs at this; the intelligent man can know who is the real husband. Factually, the Lord is the husband of all the women in His creation, but a conditioned soul under the control of the Lord feels proud to be the husband of one or two wives.«

Do we as conditional souls feel proud to be the husband of one or two wives because we think we are proprietor of the wife? If the Lord is husband of all women, than what is our role as a husband. Are we like a Krishna's "butler" and our main duty is to please His wife? To render a service to wife to please Krishna?

If my understanding has any shortcomings or is defective please correct me and please explain it to me, so I could become a Krishna conscious husband some day, if this is Krishna's will.

Kind regards.
Your servant,
Danilo

Answer: See Everyone as Krishna's Property

From: ISKCON Timisoara, Romania

My Dear Danilo,

Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Our problem is that we still see and feel ourselves to be the proprietor. Our duty is to see everything and everyone as belonging to Krishna, including ourselves, and thus to engage everything and everyone, including ourselves, in the service of Krishna.

I hope this meets you in the best of health and in an ecstatic mood.
Your ever well-wisher,
Sankarshan Das Adhikari
