Back to Sri Vrindavan Dhama

On Thursday 20 September 2018 we will be returning to the abode of Lord Sri Krishna here in this material world, Sri Vrindavan Dhama. What could be more ecstatic than this? To be in that place where Lord Sri Krishna displayed so many of His most intimate pastimes is the greatest blessing. By meditating upon and worshipping those pastimes the devotee of the Lord become qualified to enter into those divine pastimes as one of Lord Sri Krishna's intimate associates upon leaving his or her present material body. There is truly nothing more sublime than this!

Question: Worshipping the Demigods?

Dear Srila Gurudeva,

Please accept my humble obeisances.

I understand that the demigods are working for Lord Krishna as heads of various departments and are part of the material world. But since they are devotees of Lord Krishna we pay obeisances to them if their deity appears before us, seeking their blessings to progress on the path of Krishna bhakti, devotion to Lord Krishna.

But should one take special endeavor to visit temples of the demigods, especially if we are at one of Lord Krishna's holy places? Also, if a demigod temple is in very close vicinity is it okay that we don't take special endeavor to visit it?

My devotee sister has this confusion. Please help us.

Answer: Krishna Worship Benefits Everyone

From: London

My Dear Paurnamasi Seva,

Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Although we have respect for all the demigods because they are all great devotees of Krishna, it is not necessary to worship them or go to their temples. This is so because simply by channeling all of our loving to devotion toKrishna we offer even better respect to demigods than if we worshipped them separately. Just as when we eat, we give all of the food to our stomach, which then distributes the nutritional benefit to every part of the body, when we channel all of our love and devotion to Lord Sri Krishna it is then distributed in the best possible way to all of the gods and goddesses and to every living being throughout all of existence.

I hope this meets you in the best of health and in an ecstatic mood.
Your ever well-wisher,
Sankarshan Das Adhikari
