Our Mission: Save the Fallen Humanity

Srila Prabhupada is ordering us, "Now push on with full enthusiasm to save the fallen humanity from the most degraded and wretched conditions of material life." Therefore we must absorb our lives in this topmost of all welfare activities to save the fallen humanity from its entanglement in the vicious cycle of birth and death.

In this connection Srila Prabhupada has written in his book Renunciation Through Wisdom:

"The Lord's devotees can save even those whom the Lord Himself rejects. This is their unique character. Therefore the devotees of the Lord arrange various means to save the fallen, reprobate souls from perdition. In fact, they live among these spiritual derelicts to encourage them toward spiritual perfection, using any means at hand-even tricks. His Divine Grace Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura Prabhupada wanted to open a students' hostel in London, the logic being that it was necessary to give sugar-coated pills, in the form of a little sense gratification, to those debauched students in order to attract them to join the path of God-realization.

"If they so desire, powerful spiritual masters, or pure devotees of the Lord, can instantly deliver the entire universe and take everyone to the shelter of the Supreme Lord's lotus feet. Srila Vasudeva Datta declared to Lord Caitanya that he was prepared to take on all the sinful reactions of every living entity in the universe and suffer eternally in hell if the Lord was willing to liberate all the living entities at one time. The pure devotees are so magnanimous that they are always concerned about the spiritual well-being of every soul. The only way to receive the Supreme Lord's mercy is to bathe oneself in the dust of the lotus feet of such unalloyed devotees."

Let us all take these words of Srila Prabhupada most seriously.

Answer: Guru Lives Forever By His Divine Instructions

The spiritual master, the guru, is eternal. He lives forever by his divine instructions, and his disciples live with him. Regarding initiation, we can only accept initiation from a guru who is still physically present here in this world. We cannot accept initiation from spiritual masters who have left their bodies and departed from this world. However, once one is initiated if he remains firm in executing his initiation vows, he his eternally connected with his spiritual master even if his spiritual master has departed because his spiritual master becomes fully present within his heart. Lord Sri Krishna orders us to accept a spiritual master if we want to become His devotees. He says that unless we have a spiritual master we are not His devotees. Therefore it is an absolute necessity for each us to take initiation from the bona fide spiritual master and remain eternally obedient to him.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments. He is the oldest of all while simultaneously maintaining the form of a 16 year old youth.
