24,000 Subscribers

The Ultimate Self-Realization Course has just passed another milestone. We now have over 24,000 subscribers. While we are pleased by this increase, we know that this is nothing compared to where we want to be. Our actual goal is 75 million subscribers, which is one per cent of the world population. We want to achieve this one percent because Srila Prabhupada said that if one percent of the world population accepts Krishna consciousness, the whole world will be peaceful. He then clarified that if even less that one percent take to Krishna consciousness we would have world peace. So if we even can come close to this one percent, we will experience the most amazing transformation of world history. Let us pray that that day comes soon.

Question: 16 Rounds in One Session?

Hare Krishna Gurudeva,
Please accept my humble obeisance’s,

I am a relatively new entrant in the world of Krishna consciousness. I find great satisfaction in the Gita classes I attend and the melodious bhajans I hear. I have stopped eating meat for sometime now and also started chanting (though not 16 rounds).

My questions are below:
A person who desires to take initiation or has taken it has to chant 16 rounds and follow the 4 principles. Does he/she also have to abstain from onions, garlic, mushrooms and eggs?

Do the 16 rounds have to be done in one go or can be done in smaller batches over the 24 hrs in a day?

Answer: If Possible

Yes, one should also abstain from onions, garlic, eggs, and mushrooms because these are not suitable for being offered to Krishna.

If at all possible, it is better to do one's 16 rounds in one unbroken session. But if not possible, one can chant his 16 rounds in a new of smaller sessions throughout the day.
