Beyond the Hellish Nightmare

Living in this material world is a hellish nightmare. Since we are all originally inhabitants of the all blissful paravyoma, the spiritual sky, we find such a totally miserable atmosphere to be completely intolerable and unacceptable. Since we cannot accept living in such a place we imagine this material world to be a happy place. Since it is such a horrible place this is the only way that we can tolerate living here. In other words we imagine that we are actually experiencing happiness here even thought factually we are not. But why should we have to compromise our actual happiness? Why should we accept imagined happiness when we can constantly sport in the waves of the ocean of unlimited happiness? We don't have to cheat ourselves like is. We can take shelter of Lord Sri Krishna and His representative, the bona fide spiritual master, and go back to our original all-blissful home in the spiritual sky. Let me tell you. That is real living!

How to become humble?

All my life I have been a person with much pride and without any humility, but since I came to Krishna consciousness, devotees have told me the importance of humility for the spiritual life, I try to be humble but in some occasions my ego wins. Please help me.

Answer: Consider Yourself Lower than Street Dirt

You should be a little embarrassed that you are so proud in spite of being a conditioned soul with imperfect senses and regularly making mistakes. If you want to capture Krishna, you will not be able to do so if you remain puffed up. But if you will become humble, always thinking yourself lower than the dirt in the street, you will capture Krishna. He will become your personal property.
