Why Not Just Be Who You Are?
Why complicate your life trying to be what you are not, namely your material body? Scientifically speaking, your body is changing at every minute, but you, the person within the body, remain the same. That's why you can remember experiences from your childhood even though, due to the constant change of chemicals within your body, the body you have now is completely different from the body you had then. Therefore it is very clear that the self residing within the body and the body are two distinct things. They are not the same. Through the process of Krishna consciousness, also referred to as bhakti yoga, you can fully realize and tangibly experience your eternal identity beyond the temporary shell known as the material body. In this state of pure spiritual knowledge you will relish the most sublime happiness at every moment.
