Krishna Likes to See His Devotee as the Hero

Why did Krishna wait so long to kill the miscreants that were creating such a disturbance on the planet earth during the time of His presence here 5,000 years ago? In this connection Srila Prabhupada explains as follows in his purport to Srimad Bhagavatam 3.1.43:

"The Lord always wants to see His devotee as the hero of some episode which He Himself performs. He wanted to see His devotee and friend Arjuna as the hero of the Battle of Kurukshetra, and thus He waited for all the miscreants of the world to assemble. That, and nothing else, is the explanation of His waiting."

In this material world many people become famous as heroes, but in due course they vanish into oblivion. They are completely forgotten. But those who become famous for their Krishna consciousness enjoy eternal fame. In this connection Srila Prabhupada explains as follows in Chapter Thirty-Two of his book The Teachings of Lord Caitanya:

"One who is famous as a Krishna conscious man enjoys eternal fame. In the material world, everyone is striving for three things: he wants his name to be perpetuated, he wants his fame to be broadcast all over the world, and he wants some profit from his material activities. But no one knows that all this material name, fame and profit belong to the temporary material body and that as soon as the body is finished, all name, fame and profit are finished also. It is only due to ignorance that everyone is striving after the name, fame and profit that are connected with the body. It is deplorable to become famous on the basis of the body or to become known as a man of spiritually developed consciousness without knowing the supreme spirit, Vishnu. Real fame can only be had if one attains Krishna consciousness."

This is another one of the wonderful reasons that we should not be interested in material name and fame, that we should only be interested in Krishna consciousness.

Question: How to See Krishna in Every Living Entity?

Dear Srila Gurudeva,

Hare Krishna

Please accept my humble obeisances.
All glories to you!
All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

In Teachings of Lord Caitanya Chapter 11 it is said, "In each and every living entity he (the pure devotee) can see the Supreme Person, and therefore he becomes highly developed in Krishna consciousness.” Can you please elaborate? What is required to know/understand/do in order to develop such skill?

Answer: Become Krishna's Pure Devotee

It is a fact that the Supreme Person in the form of the Supersoul is present in the heart of every living being. In order to perceive this with direct vision one has to become a pure devotee of Krishna. The path for becoming a pure devotee is to fully surrender to Lord Krishna by taking shelter and initiation from the bona fide spiritual master and then being fully obedient to his instructions. In this way, in due course of time, you will become a pure devotee of Krishna fully capable of directly seeing Krishna in the heart of every living being.
