Existence and Nonexistence

Srila Prabhupada writes as follows in his introduction to the Bhagavad-gita:

"Just what is the Bhagavad-gita? The purpose of Bhagavad-gita is to deliver mankind from the nescience of material existence. Every man is in difficulty in so many ways, as Arjuna also was in difficulty in having to fight the Battle of Kurukshetra. Arjuna surrendered unto Sri Krishna, and consequently this Bhagavad-gita was spoken. Not only Arjuna, every one of us is full of anxieties because of this material existence. Our very existence is in the atmosphere of nonexistence. Actually we are not meant to be threatened by nonexistence. Our existence is eternal. But somehow or other we are put into asat. Asat refers to that which does not exist."

From this we can learn that it is futile to try to be happy in material existence because it is a state of nonexistence. Our nature is existence. Therefore it is impossible for us to be happy in atmosphere of nonexistence. Just as a fish cannot be happy on the land, we cannot be happy in an atmosphere of nonexistence. This is why we must come to Krishna consciousness, the atmosphere of existence, in order to become genuinely happy.

Question: Chanting Rounds on Mobile App?

Pujya Gurudeva,
Please accept my humble respectful obeisances
All glories to Srila Prabhupada and you.

Gurudeva, I chant on my mobile japa mala app when I am at office, but at home I chant on wooden tulasi japa mala beads. Is this right or wrong? Please clear my doubts.

Answer: At Least 16 Rounds Must Be Chanted on Japa Beads

It is wrong. At least 16 rounds of japa must be chanted on your japa mala beads. You can take your japa beads to your office and chant on them during your break time at the office.
