There is Nothing Sweeter than This
November 19, 2025
Today I must share with you this most wonderful verse and purport from the Sri Caitanya Caritamrita, Adi Lila, Chapter 7, Text 22:punaḥ punaḥ piyāiyā haya mahāmatta
nāce, kānde, hāse, gāya, yaiche mada-matta
Śrī Panca-tattva themselves danced again and again and thus made it easier to drink nectarean love of Godhead. They danced, cried, laughed and chanted like madmen, and in this way they distributed love of Godhead.
PURPORT
People generally cannot understand the actual meaning of chanting and dancing. Describing the Gosvāmīs, Śrī Śrīnivāsa Ācārya stated, kṛṣṇotkīrtana-gāna-nartana-parau: not only did Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu and His associates demonstrate this chanting and dancing, but the Six Gosvāmīs also followed in the next generation. The present Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement follows the same principle, and therefore simply by chanting and dancing we have received good responses all over the world. It is to be understood, however, that this chanting and dancing do not belong to this material world. They are actually transcendental activities, for the more one engages in chanting and dancing, the more he can taste the nectar of transcendental love of Godhead.
Our chanting and dancing is not like the theatrics of a dancing dog. Our devotees are chanting and dancing in a state of transcendental bliss.

All glories to Srila Prabhupada, to you, and to Guru Mataji.
Why unrestricted sense enjoyment is discouraged?
Your insignificant servant, Gaurav
From: C. Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra, India
Answer
My Dear Gaurav,
Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda.
Unrestricted sense enjoyment is like pouring gasoline on a fire. This makes the fire burn hotter and hotter. It increases unlimitedly our false identification with the material body. Therefore, we minimize sense enjoyment as much as possible by strictly following these principles: no illicit sex, no meat eating, no intoxication, and no gambling.
I hope this meets you in the best of health and in a cheerful mood.
Your ever well-wisher,
Sankarshan Das Adhikari

How I Came to Krishna Consciousness
In a world obsessed with money, fame, and fleeting pleasures—leading nowhere but to the grave or the crematorium—I walked away. Life felt so meaningless, I couldn’t stand it. This is the true story of how I turned my back on the American materialistic dream and discovered something far greater: Krishna consciousness. A gripping journey of inner revolution and a call to awaken a world civilization on the edge of collapse.Read My Memoir You'll Love It!
