A Most Auspicious Time to Die

October 28, 2025

This morning (Oct 27, 2025) I was attending mangal arati at Srila Prabhupada's samadhi in Vrindavan standing there before Srila Prabhupada's murti singing Hare Krishna with great enthusiasm along with my beloved godbrothers, Sruti Kirti Prabhu and Panca Gauda Prabhu. It was such an auspicious, spiritual surcharged moment I was thinking that I were to die, to drop dead, at that very moment how wonderful it would be. Since I did not die at that moment I have lived to write about it an hour and fifteen minutes later at 5:30 am IST.

How can we stimulate ecstatic love for Krishna within our hearts?

Answer

In this regard Srila Prabhupada writes as follows in The Nectar of Devotion:

Some things which give impetus or stimulation to ecstatic love of Kṛṣṇa are His transcendental qualities, His uncommon activities, His smiling features, His apparel and garlands, His flute, His buffalo horn, His leg bells, His conchshell, His footprints, His places of pastimes (such as Vṛndāvana), His favorite plant (tulasī), His devotee and the periodical occasions for remembering Him. One such occasion for remembrance is Ekādaśī, which comes twice a month on the eleventh day of the moon, both waning and waxing. On that day all the devotees remain fasting throughout the night and continuously chant the glories of the Lord.

Let us all take advantage of Srila Prabhupada's merciful guidance and become pure devotees of Krishna as soon as possible.

How I Came to Krishna Consciousness

In a world obsessed with money, fame, and fleeting pleasures—leading nowhere but to the grave or the crematorium—I walked away. Life felt so meaningless, I couldn’t stand it. This is the true story of how I turned my back on the American materialistic dream and discovered something far greater: Krishna consciousness. A gripping journey of inner revolution and a call to awaken a world civilization on the edge of collapse.
