Things Go Better with Hare Krishna

1 June 2025

Make the Hare Krishna mantra (Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare / Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare) your constant companion as you go through your day’s activities, and you will witness how your life transforms into the most astoundingly amazing adventure. Try it—you’ll love it.

In this connection Srila Prabhupada teaches us:

So our request is that you give it a try. Simply chant, at home or anywhere. There is no restriction: "You have to chant this Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra in such-and-such a place, in such-and-such a condition." No. Niyamitaḥ smaraṇe na kālaḥ. There is no restriction of time, circumstances, or atmosphere. Anywhere, at any time, you can meditate by chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa. No other meditation is possible while you are walking on the street, but this meditation is possible. You are working with your hands? You can chant Hare Kṛṣṇa. It is so nice.

This mantra is worth more than billions and trillions of dollars, but yet it has now been given to us by Srila Prabhupada absolutely free! Therefore we should be unlimitedly grateful.

Hare Krishna Srila Gurudev,
Please accept my humble obeisances,

Thank you so much for your kindness,

I have a question Srila Gurudev,

You in one of your Thought for the Days you suggested that we should be fearless knowing Krishna is the supreme controller and our our best well-wisher! But how to be fearless when I am depressed due to my own actions that are controlled by my free will?

Also, I get sometimes how japa is cleansing the heart and sometimes when I chant attentively I feel peaceful,

But I don't feel the same with services or deity worship.
I have disregarded them many times as being burdensome and just so hard to execute.
I wish to realise all that you have done for me, and be grateful, I don't want to be a robot,
Is it disrespective if I write you every day?
You always respond as you have all the time for your students, please let me know so that I shall write you only when actually needed.

Your hoping to be servant,
Jiya

My Dear Jiya,

Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda.

When we are not in the mood of serving Krishna we will naturally become fearful because at that time we are like fish out of the water.

Do your service in the same meditative mood that you chant your japa
You can write me whenever you need guidance.

I hope this meets you in the best of health
and in a cheerful mood.

Your ever well-wisher,
Sankarshan Das Adhikari

My Spiritual Journey in a Nutshell

As an American youth I was taught to believe in the. "American dream": Study hard, get a good education and a good job to get a good wife some good kids in a good house to enjoy a good life. But when I got to college, I realized that this was not enough. I wanted to know what the meaning of life is, but no one could tell me. So, I took to the path of self-realization and was blessed in 1968 with the Hare Krishna mantra and the worship of Radha and Krishna. (I did not know about ISKCON.) This inspired me to drop out of college and renounce the world to become a holy beggar in India. But on the way to India, I realized that to renounce everything I had to ultimately renounce renunciation itself and accept something transcendental Thus I embraced the mission of delivering the world from chaos. For this purpose, I adopted the life a singer/songwriter who in 1969 became recognized and very much appreciated. In 1971, seeking spiritual perfection, I followed the example of Lord Jesus Christ and prayed to God how I could become His perfect servant. Then God revealed to me path of pure Krishna bhakti as taught by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami. On the most auspicious day of 12 August 1971, he accepted me as his disciple. Now on his order and under his most expert guidance I have fully devoted my life for awakening pure love of God within my heart and for making the entire world Krishna conscious.
