Don't Be Misguided by a Rascal

Sometimes someone tells an initiated disciple of a bonafide spiritual master that they understand the disciple's situation better than their spiritual master and that thus the disciple should follow them instead of their spiritual master. Srila Prabhupada explains that such a person who misguides a disciple is a rascal and a demon. So the disciple should be cautious to never fall under the way of such a rascal. The disciple should always stick tightly to the instructions he has received from his spiritual master taking them as his very life and soul. If the disciple is having any difficulty in doing this he should contact his spiritual master explaining his difficulty so that the spiritual master can help him out of the difficulty.

Hare Kṛṣṇa Prabhu,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to You And Srila Prabhupada.

Prabhu, rains are natural phenomena as taught in school. We can predict when, how, where rains can come possibly (although not 100% accurate) etc. With previous data we even know, in which months will the rain hit a particular place, etc.

How then, can one understand that rains are controlled by Indra?

Similar goes with another statement of Prabhupada, where he says the sky is blue because Kṛṣṇa is blue. But science says its due to Rayleigh Scattering. How to make sense of both the statements?

Ofcourse, Kṛṣṇa being Sarva Karana Karanam, sounds pretty good and logical to me but how demigods are also Karana? I mean for the case of rain, I would prefer to look at it as a natural phenomenon which was caused due to Kṛṣṇa's will since he is the cause of all causes, and therefore he is also the cause of nature, which works under his control. However, here, I don't see demigods in the process.

Please clear these doubts.

The weathermen are simply predicting when Indra will send the rain. They do not control the rain. Thus their predictions are sometimes wrong. Indra and the other demigods are department heads. They are all under the direction of the Supreme Controller, Lord Sri Krishna.

The scientists are mere speculators. We did not take their speculations as authoritative. One scientist says this, another scientist says that. The guessing game goes on forever. We take the version of the authority of Vedic wisdom because it is coming from God, that Supreme Person who knows everything. The knowledge from Krishna God never changes, while the wisdom from the scientists is always changing and is thus not authoritative.

Regarding the sky being blue here is what Srila Prabhupada has stated citing the authority of Vedic Wisdom:

Sky is the reflection of Kṛṣṇa's bodily effulgence; therefore it is blue. Just like if the cover of the light is red, the radiance also becomes red. Similarly, Kṛṣṇa is blue. It is described in the Vedic literature,
veṇuṁ kvaṇantam aravinda-dalāyatākṣaṁ
barhāvataṁsam asitāmbuda-sundarāṅgam
[Bs. 5.30] [I worship Govinda, the primeval Lord, who is adept in playing on His flute, with blooming eyes like lotus petals with head decked with peacock's feather, with the figure of beauty tinged with the hue of blue clouds, and His unique loveliness charming millions of Cupids.]
God's bodily hue is just like bluish cloud. But it is very beautiful. These are not imagination. They are taken from Vedic literatures. So His bodily luster is like that. Therefore He is blue. It is not that we have painted blue by imagination. No. It is authoritative.

So do not be misled by these bogus, so-called scientists who say that we are these bodies and that when the body dies everything is finished.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee.
