There Are No Newspaper in Hell

Once a Christian evangelist was preaching to some coal miners trying to convince them to accept Jesus, He told them, "If you don't accept Jesus, you will go to hell." So the miners asked, "What is hell?" And the preacher said, "It's very cold. It's very damp. It's very dark." But the coal miners weren't affected by that because they lived in such an atmosphere every day in the coal mine. They were used to it, So the preacher thought how he convince them to surrender to Jesus and he got an idea. He said, "In hell there are no newspapers." So when the miners heard that are no newspapers in hell they immediately decided that they must accept Jesus.

The point of this story is that to preach Krishna consciousness successfully one must be a very expert judge of time, place, and circumstances.

I have heard of someone who became overpowered by lust and succumbed to illicit sex in their 80s. I am discouraged that if someone can fall down in their 80's how will I be able to become perfect?

Sexual desire is so strong that without spiritual training even a dying person will think of sex. To support this assertion, Prabhupāda tells the story of a king and his minister. When the king asked his minister when the desire for sex would end, the minister replied that it lasts up to death.

The king doubted his minister’s answer. Wanting to prove his point, the minister took the king and the king’s young daughter to visit a man on his deathbed. The man was a loyal subject and would no doubt be thrilled by a visit from the king. But when the king and his daughter entered the room, the dying man’s eyes focused, not on the face of the king, but rather on the attractive young girl.

One may question why sexual desires at death are bad. The Vedic scriptures tell us that our thoughts and desires at death carry us to our next destination. To think of sex at death guarantees our return to the material world. Because our thoughts at death are naturally a composite of the activities and desires of our life, a preoccupation with sex may mean taking a body more suited to enjoying sex, such as that of a monkey or a pigeon. Both species can have sex many times a day with no guilt or inhibitions.

Become perfect now by absorbing yourself 24 hours daily in Krishna consciousness and your heart will never pierced by the arrows of Cupid all the way to point of when you leave your body.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee.
