Is Religion a Delusion

Robert Pirsig states in Lila (1991) "when one person suffers from a delusion it is called insanity. When many people suffer from a delusion it is called religion."

What I say is that when one person denies religion it is called insanity and that when many deny religion it is called science.

If someone wants to deny religion, we must first of all know what it is that they are denying. If they are denying blind faith dogma, we certainly agree with them. But if they are denying the science of re-harmonizing ourselves with the source of all existence we must certainly disagree with them.

In this regard it must be noted that they do not consider the original source to be a person. We challenge them in this regard that your father had a father who had a father who had a father, etc. etc. At point did one of your predecessor fathers crawl out of the mud as animated clay? Our contention is that the chain of fathers goes back to the original father, ie. God. The atheist contention is that it all began with chemicals or a big explosion. But which view is more scientifice and which view is blind faith? We can prove that we have a chain of fathers by practical evidence. But they cannot prove a living being can come out of dead matter or an explosion. Thus our theistic view is scientifically verifiable while their atheistic view is blind faith. Thus their contention that God is a delusion is a delusion. And their civilization base on this delusion is a fool's paradise.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
