Become Guru and Deliver the People of Your Country

Lord Caitanya has ordered all of us to become gurus in the Sri Caitanya Caritamrita, Madhya Lila, Chapter 7, Verse 128:

yāre dekha, tāre kaha ’kṛṣṇa’-upadeśa
āmāra ājñāya guru hañā tāra’ ei deśa

”Instruct everyone to follow the orders of Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa as they are given in the Bhagavad-gītā and Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. In this way become a spiritual master and try to liberate everyone in this land.”

So we should not hesitate. We should immediately become gurus by strictly following the process of Krishna bhakti and preaching the science of Krishna as much as possible to everyone we meet. If we hesitate to do this, we are lost. And if we surrender unto Lord Caitanya's order our lives will be unlimitedly sublime.

My age is 26 now. Few weeks ago I was able to understand Srimad Bhagvatam verses just when read once, but now it is very difficult for me. I have to read it twice, thrice, but still it has become difficult to read, understand and grasp it. What has happened to me?

You are a victime of the Kali Yuga. In this age of Kali our power of understanding is not very strong. That is one of the symptoms of this degraded age. But you can strengthen it if you will carefully study Srila Prabhupada's purports to the verses and also memorize key verses that you would like to be able to cite when you are preaching. Make a list of all the verses you would like to learn and memorize them. Recite through your list of verses as a regular daily function after you finish your daily quota of at least 16 rounds of Hare Krishna japa mala. By making this strong connection with key verses you will be able to dive deeply into their meaning.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
