Make Sure Not to Cheat Yourself

You are an eternal spiritual being qualitatively one with God. Since God is eternal, full of knowledge, and full of bliss you are also eternal, full of knowledge, and full of bliss. However if you foolishly misidentify yourself with your material body, you relegate yourself to temporality, ignorance, and misery. So it's your choice. Which do you prefer--eternity, knowledge, and bliss or temporality, ignorance, and misery? I hope you make the right choice because I don't like to see anybody suffering.

Question: Can Bhagavad-gita Change a Meat Eater?

I am a non-vegetarian person I read Bhagavad-gita and do chanting daily. I am doing this for the past one week. Can Gita bring any changes in my life? Can I be a devotee of my Lord? Can Gita bring changes in a non-vegetarian person?

Please help me 🙏

Answer: Gita Has Saved Many Meat Eaters

My Dear Saiakshara,

Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Many meat eaters have by following the Bhagavad-gita given up eating meat and become devotees.

It is very to do this. Simply follow Krishna's order. Krishna says that we can only eat foods that have been offered to Him, otherwise we are eating only sin. And He prescribes which kinds of foods we can eat. Note in the following verse that meat is not on the list of acceptable foods.

patraṁ puṣpaṁ phalaṁ toyaṁ
yo me bhaktyā prayacchati
tad ahaṁ bhakty-upahṛtam
aśnāmi prayatātmanaḥ

"If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, fruit or water, I will accept it."--Bhagavad-gita, Chapter 9, Text 26

Kindly note that meat is only for carnivorous animals. It is not meat for human beings. Human beings who eat meant become carnivorous animals in their next birth. Is this what you want?

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee.
