Letter from Srila Prabhupada to Sankarshan Das

Here, my dear reader, you can behold one of my greatest treasures, a personal letter from Srila Prabhupada to me. (It was the typist who misspelled my name by putting an "m" where there should have been an "n".) Srila Prabhupada noted my sincerity and my enthusiasm for spreading the Krishna consciousness movement. He then gave me an instruction that has empowered me for the last 49 years: "Continue enthusiastically as you are doing and surely Krishna will bless you." This will continue to enliven and inspire me for the rest of my life.

And then when signing his name he was inspired to add something which was not included in the dictated letter: "P.S. On Friday night we are going to Nairobi." What is the significance of this? The significance is that now he showing me his loving affection as the father feels for his intimate son with whom he shares the details of his day-to-day existence. In other words, while the letter itself is official instructions from the spiritual master to his disciple, the "P.S" is the loving confidentiality of the father to his son. What could be sweeter and more wonderful than this?
