In the Bhagavad-gita Lord Sri Krishna states:

tad viddhi praṇipātena
paripraśnena sevayā
upadekṣyanti te jñānaṁ
jñāninas tattva-darśinaḥ

"Just try to learn the truth by approaching a spiritual master. Inquire from him submissively and render service unto him. The self-realized souls can impart knowledge unto you because they have seen the truth."

Therefore we take our knowledge from those who are self-realized, not from the fools and rascals who are addicted to sense gratification and will be animals in their next birth.

Question: When Was Krishna Born?

One of my friends has told me that Lord Krishna was born near 950 BC. He emphatically states that it has been proved through the carbon dating formula. He over and again emphasizes that Lord Krishna was only a powerful man not Lord. He also added that 99% of the philosophers and researchers of the archeological department stated that Krishn was born near 950 BC. What should I say or do now? Because I read in the Vedas and Puranas Lord Krishna was born approximately 5000 years ago approx. Kindly help me with proper resolution and evidence.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. Krishna is not a myth, nor is He an ordinary historical personality. He is the Supreme All-Attractive Personality of Godhead. He is the oldest of all while simultaneously maintaining the form of a 16 year old youth.
