Don't Be Carried Away by Lust

Do You Want to Serve Your Genitals or Serve Krishna?

Sometimes neophyte devotees, even though they know it is wrong, become overwhelmed by lust and gratify their genitals beyond the allotted quota of using them only for the natural purpose, procreation. In this regard Srila Prabhupada explains as follows in his purport to Text One of The Nectar of Instruction:

"As far as the urges of the genitals are concerned, there are two -- proper and improper, or legal and illicit sex. When a man is properly mature, he can marry according to the rules and regulations of the sastras and use his genitals for begetting nice children. That is legal and religious. Otherwise, he may adopt many artificial means to satisfy the demands of the genitals, and he may not use any restraint. When one indulges in illicit sex life, as defined by the sastras, either by thinking, planning, talking about or actually having sexual intercourse, or by satisfying the genitals by artificial means, he is caught in the clutches of maya. These instructions apply not only to householders but also to tyagis, or those who are in the renounced order of life."

So all devotees must be carefully to take complete total shelter of Guru and Krishna. In this way they will be fully protected from falling under the control of lusty desires.

Hare Krishna. I am a devotee of Lord Krishna. During this lockdown I have lost my job. Now I am suffering a lot. So I pray to Krishna for a job. Is there any mantra for Lord Krishna to get a job.

I know this is material desire, but what to do? We need money to fulfill our basic needs.

When Srila Prabhupada first came to America he had no job, and he had only 40 rupees. He did not pray for money or pray for a job. He simply prayed as follows:

"Somehow or other, O Lord, You have brought me here to speak about You. Now, my Lord, it is up to You to make me a success or failure as
You like."

And he achieved unlimited success.

So if you will adopt the same mood of putting yourself completely in the hands of Krishna by the one prayer of begging Him to make you His pure devotee, you will be amazed at how wonderfully everything will work out.

I hope this meets you in the best of health and in a fully surrendered mood.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee.
