Krishna Consciousness is Better Than Sex​​​​​​​​​​​​

In material life sex is the number one attraction. Indeed it is sometimes said that whole world spins on sex desire. That's how prominent it is. So how is it that a Krishna conscious person can completely give up sex without being agitated by a suppressed desire for it?

The answer is quite simple. Krishna consciousness is better than sex, and there is not much more to be said in this connection. One simply has to be trained how to be properly situated in Krishna consciousness. Then he will able to relish at every moment a pleasure much greater than the so-called pleasure of sex. Thus sex pleasure will no longer appeal to him because he will see it as something than lowers his consciousness rather than elevating it.

Question: Why Can't We Offer Meat to Krishna?

Dear Srila Gurudeva, 🙌
Please accept my humble obeisances onto your lotus feet. 🙏

I was preaching to one of my material friends about Krishna consciousness and how wrong and devastating it is to eat non-vegetarian food. His reply was that plants also have life. And I said that when offer the plants to Krishna He forgives us of all sin. His reply was that if Krishna can take away the sin of killing the plants, which have life, then we can also offer the flesh of animals (which also have life) to Krishna and can He forgive us of that sin also! I couldn't reply to his point. I need your guidance in this regard!

Krishna is the supreme authority. He has agreed to take away the sins of killing the plants if they are offered to Him with love and devotion. But He has not agreed to do the same if we kill animals. This is up to Krishna to decide what He will do and not to. It is not up to your friend what Krishna will do and not do.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
