Where is My Home?

In this material world, which is not our real home, people tend to take the land of their present birth as their actual home, even though they have thousands and millions of births in thousands and millions of places. Thus it clearly seen that their material conception of home is fallacious. Our real home is that place from which we have originally come. That place is the spiritual world. The human form of life is an opportunity given by God for us to get back to our original home by the process of bhakti yoga, dovetailing all of our thoughts, words, and deeds with the pleasure of that Supreme Person, who is the origin of our existence.

Question: Why Do Devotees Suffer from Health Issues?

Recently I have come across a few cases where people were suffering from serious health issues. A few of them are ISKCON members also, who are continuously doing Japa and following four regulative principles also. But still they come across these situations in their lives. So my questions to you are:

1. Does Krishna provide safety to His devotees at least as he has promised while speaking Bhagavd-gita.
2. Secondly, I always remains in fear about health of me and my dear ones. How do I overcome these worries of future.

Answer: Devotees are Situated Beyond All Suffeing

In this material world both the devotees and the non-devotees experience birth, death, old age, and disease. The difference is that while the non-devotees remain trapped in this vicious cycle the devotees are being liberated from it. In other words, for the devotees this will be their last lifetime in this material world. When they leave their present material bodies they will go back to home, back to Godhead. And even while they are undergoing old age, disease, and death their minds are peaceful and happy because they have fully realized that they are not getting sick, old, and dying. It is simply their material body (a garment that they are temporarily wearing) that is going through these changes, not them.

If you and your dear ones will seriously take to the process of Krishna consciousness, you will all realize your identities as eternal spiritual beings who are completely transcendental to birth, death, old age, and disease. Because the Krishna cosncious devotee fully realizes that he is not his body, he is fully ecstatic even when his body, not his real self, experiences the inevitable old age, disease, and death.
