Just Be Who You Are

Don't waste your time futilely trying to be something that you are not, namely your material body. Instead you should just be who you actually are, the eternal spirit-soul servant of Krishna. Even though it's the easiest thing in the world to just be who you are, because we have been programmed for thousands and millions of lifetimes by the material energy to think that we are these bodies, it takes time and a solid program of training to bring us back to our original natural consciousness. This training program for rejuvenating our original identity can only be executed under the expert guidance of the bona fide spiritual master. Therefore all intelligent people seek out a bona fide spiritual master and strictly follow his guidelines for reviving their original eternal identities.

Question: How to Look for a Spiritual Master?

How should an aspiring devotee look for a spiritual master? How soon after being introduced to Krishna Consciousness should an aspiring devotee look for her spiritual master? How do we keep in close contact with our spiritual master. How would he know of our progress in Krishna consciousness? Would I need to finish the course before you would consider initiating me?

Answer: Find Someone Who Can Deliver You from Birth and Death

Srila Prabhupada accepted Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur as his spiritual master within his heart within several minutes after meeting him in 1922. Although he was not initiated immediately, within his heart he immediately accepted Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur as his spiritual master.

So my best advice to you is that you when you find someone who can deliver you from the cycle of birth and death you should immediately accept him as your spiritual master.

Stay in touch with your spiritual master by corresponding with him, regularly reading his writings, and regularly hearing his lectures.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. Who is this Krishna?

Krishna is not a myth, nor is He an ordinary historical personality. He is the Supreme All-Attractive Personality of Godhead. He is the oldest of all while simultaneously maintaining the form of a 16 year old youth.
