Question: If Someone Claims to Be God

Please accept my humble obeisances.
Deeply obliged to you.

Trying to stay in an ecstatic mood.

As you said that the subtle body remains here in this material world while we go back home back to Godhead. What is the situation in case of impersonalists? I meet many folks and they claim to be Gods during my course of Preaching and says that God is in us and so we are all Gods.

They also say that undoubtedly bhakti marga is supreme, but chanting mantras is not.

Please through some light as to how can I go about enlightening them, and also please tell me of some quotes that comes from Srimad Bhagavatam and Bhagavad-gita that will enable or encourage a devotee to make spiritual resolution for the new year.

Thanks & Regards !!!

Answer: Why Do They Have to Work a Job?

Impersonal realization takes thousands of millions years to achieve. And even after attaining it one falls back again into material existence because there is still some contamination of the subtle body present in one who has achieved impersonal liberation.

If these persons are actually God as they claim, why do they have to work a job to maintain themselves. God is the maintainer of all living beings. You can ask them that if they are truly the maintainer of all living beings, why do they have to work a job in order to maintain themselves. God does not have to report for work on Monday morning.

Their statement, "Bhakti is supreme, but chanting mantras is not," reveals their gross ignorance of the science of bhakti. The prime source of scriptural knowledge regarding the science of bhakti is the Bhagavad-gita in which is stated that those who practice bhakti are always engaged in chanting mantras glorifying the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Sri Krishna.

Everyone’s resolution for the new year should be full surrender to Krishna as the Lord orders us in Bhagavad-gita 18.66.
