Don't Relativize or Gloss Over Spiritual Master's Teachings

If we take an absolute statement of the spiritual master and we dismiss it as not being applicable in all circumstances this is called relativization. It is also called glossing over, which means try to conceal or disguise (something embarrassing or unfavorable) by treating it briefly or representing it misleadingly. In other words we should not twist the teachings of the spiritual master around our own attachments. This will keep us in the material world birth after birth. Rather we should adapt our thoughts, words, and deeds so that they are fully in line with our spiritual master's teachings.

Objection: I Don't Want to Be Involved With ISKCON

I really feel like not being involved with any religion/spiritual organization. I have connection with God, and there does not need to be any mediators between me and God. Jesus is also saying that we do not need any mediators.

Sincerely,
YSS

Answer: Associating With Me Means Associating with ISKCON

You have wrongly understood that Jesus taught that we do not need a mediator to approach God. Jesus himself is a mediator. He teaches that no one can directly connect with God that they can only approach God through the transparent via medium of the bona fide spiritual master. That is why he says to his disciples in John 14.6:

"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

In the 8th verse of the Guruvastakam prayers Visvanatha Cakravarti teaches exactly the same principle that Jesus teaches:

"By the mercy of the spiritual master one receives the benediction of Krishna. Without the grace of the spiritual master, one cannot make any advancement."

So my best advice to you is that instead of speculating with your imperfect mind that you accept the authority of the great Vaisnava acharyas such as Jesus Christ and Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakur. This is how you will get the proper understanding of how to get out this material world and return to your original home in the spiritual world.

You also mention that you do not want to be involved with any religion or spiritual organization, but you have been corresponding with me, a representative of ISKCON, for many years thus involving yourself with a spiritual organization. This is a contradiction. If you truly did not want to be involved, you would not have been writing me again and again for so many years. And if you continue to write, which I hope you will do, this proves that you do have a desire to be connected with ISKCON. In conclusion, I am ISKCON. If you associate with me you are associating with ISKCON. Associating with me means associating with ISKCON.
