Unlimited Excitement and Adventure at Every Moment

The other day as we were preparing to head out on our current around-the-world lecture tour a friend in Austin remarked to me, "You must be excited." I explained to him that the real excitement is Krishna consciousness. Whether one is circling the globe or staying in one place if one is Krishna conscious, he feels excitement at every moment. Because Krishna is a reservoir of unlimited excitement and adventure, anyone who purely connects with Him will experience unlimited excitement and adventure at every moment.

Question: Is It Necessary to Chant on Beads?

I do my chants on my fingers but not always on beads. I use my finger lines to keep the track of 108 chants. Is it okay to do it this way, or I necessarily have to use the beads?

Answer: Srila Prabhupada Gave Us Beads for Chanting

Chanting can be done in any situation with or without beads and must go on as much as possible 24 hours a day. But if we are to be successful in perfecting our chanting we must complete at least 16 rounds of chanting the Hare Krishna mahamantra daily while counting on our japa beads. Srila Prabhupada has specifically mentioned in his Bhagavad-gita purport that the Hare Krishna mantra is chanted round the beads. Whenever he initiated anyone as his disciple he would personally hand them their chanting beads. He did not do this for show. He gave us the beads so that we could chant on them. So this is what we are meant to do. At least 16 rounds daily of our chanting must be done on our japa beads.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me.
