Don't Pay Your Bill and Your Utilities Will Be Cut Off.
If you don't pay your water bill and your electricity bill, your utilities will be cut off. Similarly if we do not perform yajna or sacrifice for the pleasure of the Supreme Lord our supply of necessities will be restricted or unbalanced. Sometimes we will get too much rain and sometimes not enough rain. There will be a shortage of food, an increase of crime, terror, and disease, and a decrease of the duration of life. The congregational chanting of the holy names of God is the only yajna or sacrifice prescribed for our present age of Kali. If the world population will engage regularly in this yajna, all the problems of the world will be solved. All necessities for human happiness will be supplied in full profusion in a perfectly balanced way.

As long as one is within the material nature there is a consideration of psychophysical nature. But when one becomes completely perfect in Krishna consciousness by 100% surrender at the lotus feet of the Lord he transcends the psychophysical nature he had when was a conditioned soul and can naturally, happily act in any capacity according to the desire of the Lord. In short, serving Krishna according to one's psychophysical nature is the beginning stage of bhakti and total surrender to doing whatever the Lord wants one to do is the perfection of bhakti. For those students who want to advance rapidly in Krishna consciousness we advise them to volunteer to do service which may not be according to their nature. In this way they will learn how to relish doing any type of service for Krishna and will quickly advance to the perfectional stage of 100% surrender.

Question: Surrender or Acting According to My Nature?
Krishna says in the Bhagavad-gita to be engaged in our prescribed duty according to our psychophysical nature. But then in the concluding verse He says to surrender unto Him exclusively. Surrender is basically defined as "anukulyasya sankalpah pratikulyasya varjanam" that is, accepting religious principles favorable for Krishna consciousness and rejecting those that are unfavorable. But if I accept the religious principles that are favorable for devotional service, they may not be complying with my psychophysical nature. In such a situation, wouldn't I end up frustrated because of doing things that are not according to my own nature? Also, Arjuna was facing a conflict between kul-dharma and kshatriya-dharma. If we face such a situation, which dharma should we choose? And who will guide us at that time? Please enlighten me, Gurudeva.

Answer: Total Surrender is the Ultimate Goal
The disciple takes the position of unconditionally surrendering himself to follow whatever instructions he receives from Krishna' representative, the bona fide spiritual master. And the spiritual master takes into account the psychophysical nature of his disciple so that as far are possible he can engage his disciple in Krishna's service in accordance with the disciple's psychophysical nature. In this way the disciple feels happy and satisfied utilizing his propensities in the service of the Lord.As long as one is within the material nature there is a consideration of psychophysical nature.
