The Endless Preaching Tour

Today we are heading out on another super ecstatic around-the-world lecture tour. This one will take us to Mauritius, South Africa, Australia, Chile, Argentina, and Canada. We have been traveling so much in recent years that our home has now become "On the road for Krishna". Even when we are back here at our home base in Austin, it is simply another stop on our endless preaching tour. There is so much sweetness in this traveling and preaching that one could go doing it for all of eternity.

Question: Is It Necessary to Chant Hare Krishna on Beads?

Is it necessary to chant the Hare Krishna mahamantra on beads? We can also recite it in our hearts the entire day doing our normal day to day activities. So what is the need to sit for two hours daily and chant the holy name on beads for chanting sixteen rounds?

Answer: It Is Absolutely Necessary

Our being able to chant the Hare Krishna mantra silently within our hearts the entire day while we are doing our normal activities is a dream only. It is not possible for us to do so in our present state of material consciousness. The reality is that presently our minds are totally engrossed in material thoughts practically the entire day. We hardly think about Krishna at all. Because we not able to chant the holy names of the Lord constantly within our hearts, therefore it is necessary that we must chant at least 16 rounds of the Hare Krishna mantra every day on japa beads in order to become sufficiently purified to be able to remember Krishna at the time of death and thus escape the cycle of birth and death.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me.
