Materialism: The Dogma of Modern Science
Materialism, the theory that matter is the only reality and that consciousness is therefore nothing but a chemical reaction in the brain, is an assumption that scientists think of as science or the scientific view of reality. They are supposed to accept this without question and are not given a chance to even discuss it. To be considered scientists they are simply supposed to accept it dogmatically. But such an approach to science is not at all scientific. In fact it destroys science at the very root. It turns science into nescience or ignorance, the exact opposite of what science is supposed to be. Instead of a completely open-minded inquiry into the nature of existence, science has sadly become the blind acceptance of the dogma known as materialism.

"For the soul there is neither birth nor death at any time. He has not come into being, does not come into being, and will not come into being. He is unborn, eternal, ever-existing and primeval. He is not slain when the body is slain."
--Bhagavad-gita 2.20
"The soul can never be cut to pieces by any weapon, nor burned by fire, nor moistened by water, nor withered by the wind."
--Bhagavad-gita 2.23
"This individual soul is unbreakable and insoluble, and can be neither burned nor dried. He is everlasting, present everywhere, unchangeable, immovable and eternally the same."
--Bhagavad-gita 2.24
Not only does He tell us about the soul. He also tells us how to fully realize and reawaken our spiritual soul identity by fully surrendering ourselves to Him. If we have good intelligence, we will heed the Lord's perfect advice.

--Bhagavad-gita 2.20
