Is God Politically Correct?

In these days of political correctness we are not supposed to offend anybody, and we are meant to give honor and respect to everyone. These are certainly laudable, noble goals. However, since some people are offended by talk of God, out of politeness we are not supposed to mention God. God is considered to be politically incorrect. But if everyone is to be honored and respected, why God should not be honored and respected? To not honor and respect Him is politically incorrect.

Someone who discriminates against a person because of their race is called a racist. Someone who discriminates against a person because of their gender is called a sexist. What then should we call someone who discriminates against a person because He happens to be God? A Godist? Krishna does not care what is this so-called political correctness. He is known as Bhaktavatsala, the one who simply wants to please His devotees whether it's politically correct or not. Therefore pleasing Him is the real standard of political correctness.

Can you please define what is enlightenment? How long does it take to become enlightened? Does it happen in an instant, or does it take time? Also, how does one know that they are enlightened? How did you know?

Answer: Understanding Who You Are

Enlightenment means to understand who you really are, that you are the eternal servant of Lord Sri Krishna. You can be enlightened within a moment by hearing submissively from the bona fide spiritual master. The enlightened person is no longer interested in material sense gratification. His only pleasure is to give pleasure to the Lord by constantly being engaged in the Lord's service.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
