Going to Mars will Not Bring Happiness

Krishna confirms in the Bhagavad-gita that from the highest planet in this universe, Brahmaloka, down to lowest, all are places of misery. So what is the use of spending so many billions of dollars to explore Mars? It is better to spend billions of dollars on spreading the Krishna consciousness movement all over the world so people can learn how to attain the all-blissful Krishnaloka planet.

Question: Where is the Spiritual World?

Dear Gurudeva,

It is mentioned in the scriptures that the spiritual world is far beyond the material creation on the other side of Viraja and travelling even at the speed of light for millions of years will not take us there. Only total surrender to the Lord in unalloyed devotional service can take us there.

Is the spiritual world far away in terms of distance or is the spiritual world in a different dimension occupying a larger area within the same space as the material world?

Your humble servant,

Answer: We Are Already in the Spiritual World

We are already in the spiritual world. Simply we are in a covered portion of it. Srila Prabhupada describes it as follows in his purport to Srimad Bhagavatam 1.3.1:

"The mahat-tattva is assembled in some corner of the vast, unlimited spiritual sky, and the part which is thus covered by the mahat-tattva is called the material sky. This part of the spiritual sky, called the mahat-tattva, is only an insignificant portion of the whole spiritual sky, and within this mahat-tattva there are innumerable universes."

Now we have to get out of the covered portion of the spiritual world into the uncovered portion. This is the real purpose of the human form of life.
