Always Connected with the Supreme

In this material world we experience a constant barrage of ups and downs, the nice and the not so nice, victory and defeat, honor and dishonor, etc. The key to always being happy is to not base our happiness on our immediate situation, which is always subject to the above mentioned dualities. Our happiness should be based instead on the underlying reality of existence, that we are the eternal emanations of the Supreme All-Loving Personality of Godhead and that all we have to do to be unlimitedly happy is to always be engaged in loving service to Him with all of our thoughts, words, and deeds in all times places and circumstances.

Question: How to Inspire Family Members to Chant?

I am a regular reader of your powerful daily mail "Thought for the Day." I was always thinking to see you and impatiently waiting for your visit to Pune, India. Today (October 16) morning I attended your kirtan and lecture here in Pune. The kirtan was so touching and wonderful that I wished that it would continue going on and on. I was really inspired by your devotion and dedication. My only question is: How to inspire for the chanting or Krishna consciousness to my spouse and other family members?

The more you become inspired, the more you will become empowered to inspire others. So kindly continue diving deeper and deeper into the unlimited ocean of kirtan rasa. In this way, you will become more and more like a magnet and you will be able to attract so many souls to chant Hare Krishna including your spouse and other family members.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
