Our Every Day is a New Year

Krishna consciousness is so nice that our every day and even our every moment is a new year. It is just like the sunrise. The sunrise is happening at every moment at some location on the earth. In the same way Srila Prabhupada has described that Krishna's pastimes are called nitya lila, eternal pastimes, because all of them are going on eternally in one of the many universes. On a morning walk in Los Angeles on 3 January1974 Srila Prabhupada said, "Our Kṛṣṇa consciousness is so nice, the more you advance, you see new year, new year. That's all. Nothing is old."

Question: How to Get the Higher Taste?

Dear Sir,

I have read Bhagavad Gita and there was a mention about a higher taste in spirituality. I meditate and chant one round of Hare Krishna mahamantra daily. Can you please describe the higher taste as I have heard it is higher than any material pleasure? Please guide how can I experience the higher taste.

Answer: Absorb the Tongue in Krishna's Service

My Dear Keshav,

Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

The way to experience that taste which is higher than any material pleasure is to awaken feelings of love for Krishna within your heart by absorbing your tongue as much as possible in Krishna's service. So by chanting Hare Krishna japa you are on the correct pathway for getting that higher taste. If you will now increase your chanting to at least rounds a day, you will accelerate your progress for getting that higher taste.

And if along with chanting if you will restrict your diet to only eating those foods which have first been offered to Lord Krishna, you will experience an amazing transformation of consciousness.
(Meat, fish, eggs, onions, and garlic cannot be offered to Krishna.)

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
