Let us all work together now and forever more as a loving spiritual family to help each other to be purely absorbed in Krishna consciousness and to make the whole world Krishna conscious as soon as possible.

Please accept my respectful obeisances.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada and to you.
In the Srimad Bhagavatam the Supreme Lord said: brāhmaṇo janmanā śreyān. ( S.B: 10.86.53) By his very birth, a brāhmaṇa is the best of all living beings in this world.
In the Srimad Bhagavad-gita Lord Sri Krishna said : cätur-varnyam mayä srstam guna-karma-vibhägasah. (Bg.4.13.)
Lord Sri Krishna said: According to the three modes of material nature and the work associated with them, the four divisions of human society are created by Me.
That means a man is not considered to be a Brahman by his birth.
These two different statements about brahmana made me much confused. Please remove my confusion.
Hare Krishna.

My Dear Ashish,
Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
Srila Prabhupada explains as follows in his purport to Srimad Bhagavatam, 1st Canto, Chapter 18, Text 33:
"Naturally the son of a brāhmaṇa has a good chance of becoming a brāhmaṇa by the direction of his qualified father, as a son of a
medical practitioner has a very good chance of becoming a qualified medical practitioner. So the caste system is quite scientific. The son must take advantage of the father's qualification and thus become a brāhmaṇa or medical practitioner, and not otherwise. Without being qualified, one cannot become a brāhmaṇa or medical practitioner, and that is the verdict of all scriptures and social orders."
So by his very birth being born in a brahmana family makes one the best of all living beings provided he takes full advantage of being born in a brahama family. But is not automatic. He has to be situated in the mode of goodness as described by Lord Krishna in Bhagavad-gita, Chapter 18, Text 42 as follows:
śamo damas tapaḥ śaucaṁ
kṣāntir ārjavam eva ca
jñānaṁ vijñānam āstikyaṁ
brahma-karma svabhāva-jam
"Peacefulness, self-control, austerity, purity, tolerance, honesty, knowledge, wisdom and religiousness—these are the natural qualities by which the brāhmaṇas work."
I hope this meets you in the best of health.
