Special Mercy from Krishna While Departing Fiji

After departing from a week in Tavua, Fiji we were on the way to the Nadi airport to catch a flight to Melbourne, Australia on 20 November 2022. On the way we stopped at ISKCON's Krishna-Kaliya temple in Lautoka, Fiji to have a darshan of Krishna-Kaliya, Who was installed by Srila Prabhupada on 2 May 1976. This deity is historically significant because after Krishna subdued the Kaliya serpent in the Yamuna River in Vrindavan Kaliya came to Fiji. The locals even tell how a giant snake lives in a lake in the mountains of Fiji.

Even though we had no scheduled time we just happened to walk in the door precisely at 12 Noon on Sunday when a devotee was just beginning the Sunday Feast Lecture to a growing audience. When he saw me he immediately stopped the lecture and asked me to give the lecture. I accepted his offer and got the mercy from Krishna-Kaliya to give an hour long lecture on Bhagavad-gita, Chapter Nine, Text 11.

This was indeed special mercy, a sweet finishing touch to an auspicious visit to Fiji.

Material love is lust and is self-centered. Spiritual love is love of God and is God-centered. When you water the root of the tree you water the entire tree. Similarly when you give your love to God, Who is the root of the creation your pure selfless love goes automatically to all living beings. Material love leaves one feeling frustrated and unfulfilled. Spiritual love gives one a feeling of unlimited satisfaction and it goes on increasing and increasing for all of eternity. I teach the art of spiritual love here in my free e-course.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me.
