Don't be Fooled by Maya

Don't be Fooled by Maya
We have to always be careful that we are not fooled by Maya into taking this temporary material body that we are presently wearing to be our actual self. It is nothing more than a highly sophisticated garment which is in a constant state of flux with the old blood corpuscles and dying and new ones are taking their place. When we misidentify with this body we base our happiness on satisfying the senses of this body. But because the body is not us we can never be factually satisfied in this way. We can only truly be happy when we engage in serving Krishna or God. Because are part of Him (just like the hand is part of the body) when we satisfy Him by our thoughts, words, and deeds we become fully satisfied.

Question: Why "Ultimate Self Realization"?

Why do you write "ultimate self realization"? As I understand, there is only one self realization. When you write "ultimate self realization: does it not imply that there is more than one kind of self realization?

I do not know the answers to such questions. Just asking out of my curiosity.

Answer: We Teach the Highest Level of Self Realization

My Dear Ishwar,

Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

There are three different levels of realization of the Absolute Truth:
1. Impersonal Brahman realization
2. Paramatma realization
3. Bhagavan realization

And there are three features of the Absolute Truth:
1. Sat (eternity)
2. Cit (knowledge)
3. Ananda (bliss)

Those who have attained Brahman realize only the Sat feature of the
Absolute Truth. Those who have attained Paramatma realization realize the Sat and Cit feature of the Absolute Truth. And those who have attained Bhagavan realization realize the Sat, Cit, and Ananda features of the Absolute Truth. Therefore Bhagavan realization (Krishna consciousness) is the highest or ultimate level of self-realization. Hence the term for our course "Ultimate Self Realization" is an accurate description of what we teach.

Thank you for your nice question.

I hope this meets you in the best of health and in an ecstatic mood.
