Tolerating the Demoniac Civilization

For a saintly person or for a person who is endeavoring to be a saint, to live in and have to deal every day with this modern day global demoniac civilization requires a lot or tolerance. There is so much nonsense going on in every sphere that we easily describe it as a hellish nightmare. Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati very succinctly stated in this connection that this material world is no fit place for a gentleman's living. On the positive side it is golden opportunity to cultivate the saintly quality of tolerance by taking shelter of Krishna's holy name as recommended by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu:

"One should chant the holy name of the Lord in a humble state of mind, thinking oneself lower than the straw in the street; one should be more tolerant than a tree, devoid of all sense of false prestige, and ready to offer all respect to others. In such a state of mind one can chant the holy name of the Lord constantly."

Question: Qualification to Take Initiation? 

My name is Nagarjuna. Thanks for your course to elevate people like me. What are the qualifications I need to maintain apart from 4 regulative principles and chanting 16 rounds minimum to take initiation from the spiritual master? Could you please tell me what is the qualification to take initiation? In what conditions will the guru accept me as his disciple and give chance to serve him?

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
