Waiting to Be Born

At the present moment the entire human civilization is in a deathlike state of bodily misidentification and suffering greatly because of it. Since everyone in all of existence is originally a devotee of Krishna, everyone is hankering within the innermost chambers of their beings to be awakened back into their original pure state of Krishna consciousness. Everyone is just waiting to come into contact with a devotee of Krishna to have their original pure consciousness revived. However, due to the extremely heavy covering influence of maya, the covering energy of the Lord, they do not realize this and continue to suffer in their foolish state of embracing illusion.

Question: How to Balance Chanting and Reading?

You mentioned to one gentleman that even reading 5 minutes a day of Prabhupada's books is invaluable. Also, you mentioned to another gentleman to chant the mahamantra as much as possible 24 hours a day to become ecstatic. So the dilemma is how to balance the time for reading and chanting when both are so important. I spend an equal amount of time for each now. Should I chant more?

Answer: Chant 16 Rounds and Read All the Books

Chant at least 16 rounds daily of the Hare Krishna mahamantra on japa mala beads as your first duty every day. And then after that you should spend as much time as possible every day reading Srila Prabhupada's books with the goal of carefully reading all of Srila Prabhupada's books cover to cover. In this way you will the achieve the perfection of human existence.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
