Vyas Puja Celebration and Initiation in Vrindavan

In Vrindavana, India on Friday 6 November, in accordance with Vaisnava tradition and in my personal presence, my disciples celebrated my appearance day, the day of my birth. This celebration is known as Vyas Puja, worship of the great spiritual master, Srila Vyasadeva. This great exponent of Krishna consciousness, Vyasadeva, is the literary incarnation of God because it was he who compiled the Vedic literature thousands of years ago. He is one of the original masters in our Brahma-Madhva-Gaudiya disciplic succession. By worshipping a current link in the disciplic succession, a spiritual master who is presently within this material world, we automatically worship all the previous acharyas up to and including Srila Vyasadeva and his predecessors: Narada Muni, Lord Brahma, and Lord Krishna. Although personally I consider myself to be nothing, it is my duty on the order of my spiritual master, Srila Prabhupada, to act as a bona fide representative of the previous spiritual masters and to accept worship on their behalf, just as a tax collector collects tax money on behalf of the government but is not allowed to keep any of it for himself. In other words, whatever honor and respect I receive is accepted on behalf of my spiritual master and the previous acharyas.

This same ceremony was also celebrated by my disciples at many other locations throughout the world.

In the afternoon I initiated eighteen aspirants on the path of bhakti as my disciples and also gave brahmana initiation to fourteen more.

Question: Why Demons Get Liberated When Killed by the Lord?

I have read and heard many times that the Lord, during his incarnation period, used to kill many great demons like Kansa and Ravana and then immediately liberate their souls from the worldly cycles of birth and death instead of putting them into hell. If I am not wrong, what is the secret behind it?

with regards
CB

Answer: Direct Contact With the Lord is All-Auspicious

Whether one is a demon or a devotee, direct contact with the Lord is all-auspicious. There are two options for returning to the spiritual world. You can either become a pure devotee of the Lord, or you can become such a powerful demon that you can terrorize the entire universe. In the later case, the Lord will personally kill you. By that direct contact with the Lord one is blessed with deliverance into the spiritual world. Of the two options it is much, much easier to become a pure devotee because to become such a powerful demon is not possible in this age. Nowadays even our most powerful demons are puny and insignificant wimps.
