The Sure Cure for Depression

When we are depressed we can sometimes feel so bad that we can actually wish that we did not exist. This is why those who are extremely depressed sometimes commit suicide. So this state of mind called depression is not any fun. It's a miserable, undesirable state of consciousness. Everybody hates it, and nobody in this world knows how to defeat it. But fortunately our ever well-wishing friend, Lord Caitanya, has given us the simple, easy formula how we can always be happy, completely untouched by depression. Instead of being in anxiety about our own unhappiness, we simply have to focus on always trying to make others happy. The more we can be absorbed in giving happiness to others, the less we will experience unhappiness ourselves. The perfection of this consciousness is to fully dedicate our lives for making the whole world happy by giving everyone Krishna consciousness. This is the order of Lord Caitanya. We should therefore give the ultimate happiness of Krishna consciousness to everyone. As soon as we fully embraces this mood of trying to deliver the entire world, on the order of Lord Caitanya, we will never experience depression ever again, because the more we give Krishna, the more we get Krishna.

Question: Go to Krishna or Other Gods to Solve Our Problems?

Hare Krishna, Guru Maharaja,

My humble namaskar and dandavat pranam,

We know that Lord Sri Krishna is the supreme executive chairman amongst all gods in the entire universe. So I would like to ask that for finding a solution to our worldly problems, is it okay to approach the executive chairman directly, or should we first approach other officers (gods) under Sri Krishna and after that go to Lord Krishna.

Please solve my doubt.

Answer: "Other Gods" Is Our Problem

Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, has ordered us in the Bhagavad-gita to fully surrender ourselves to Him. This the solution for all of our problems. The only reason we have any problems at all is that we are disobedient to Krishna's order. Our foolish mentality of wanting to find other solutions besides full surrender to Krishna is the very root cause of all of our problems. Therefore we should not be so foolish as to disobey Krishna's order by trying to find other solutions for our problems. In conclusion, there is no question of any other gods because Krishna says in the Bhagavad-gita that those who go other gods (the demigods) have lost their brains.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments. Krishna is not a myth, nor is He an ordinary historical personality. He is the Supreme All-Attractive Personality of Godhead. He is the oldest of all while simultaneously maintaining the form of a 16 year old youth.
