Are Devotees Conservative or Liberal?

Some people say that the devotees of Krishna are very conservative because they abstain from illicit sex, meat eating, intoxication, and gambling. But they do not understand that the real meaning of being conservative is to follow rules and regulations blindly without any idea of why you are doing it. In this connection Srila Prabhupada says, "Conservative means unnecessarily you catch some rules and regulation without any meaning or without any utility. That is conservative. In Sanskrit it is called niyamāgraha." The devotees of the Lord are not at all conservative. They know exactly why they engage their senses in a certain way for attaining the highest level of spiritual perfection. They are instead the most liberal. They are not misers because they freely give the highest knowledge of Krishna consciousness to the whole world without asking for anything in return. This liberalness of the devotees is also called magnanimity.

Answer: I Have, But When Will the Christians Accept Him?

I accepted Lord Jesus Christ forty-four years ago when I totally gave myself to God. I'm waiting for that day when the Christians will also accept Jesus. The Bible teaches us to not kill, but these so-called Christians have become very expert at murdering millions of innocent animals every day in the slaughterhouses.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
