Srila Prabhupada's Disappearance Day

Today is a day of great mourning. It was on this day 38 years ago in 1977 here in Sri Vrindavana Dhama that Srila Prabhupada left his body and returned back to Krishna's transcendental abode. Were it not for the fact that the spiritual master is more present in his instructions than he is in his physical presence we would not have been able to carry on in this world in his absence. Because Srila Prabhupada is even more present when we remember his instructions and feel his separation, today is also a day of great celebration for us. Srila Prabhupada explains how this is so in a letter to Krishna Das, which he wrote in Seattle, Washington USA on 21 October 1968 as follows:

"To feel separation from the spiritual master or Krishna is very good position. That means one who is in pure love with Krishna and his representative, spiritual master, he thinks always of them. And this thinking process is Krishna consciousness. If we can think always of Krishna even in separation, that is Krishna Consciousness. And in the absolute platform, there is no difference of separation and meeting. The separation is also meeting, rather in separation one relishes the loving relationship more tasty. So don't be disappointed that you are separated from me."

We here in the anguish of Srila Prabhupada's separation are being taught by our beloved Srila Prabhupada that we can feel even more pleasure now than we did in his physical presence. It is simply a matter of our coming to the proper understanding and consciousness. This is known as Krishna consciousness. Therefore let us all come now to the standard of pure Krishna consciousness on this most auspicious holy day and relish the divine presence of Srila Prabhupada by feeling his separation and remembering his wonderful, illuminating instructions which forcefully drive away all the darkness of this vicious age of Kali.

Question: Are Your Sunday Feasts Vegan?

At your Sunday programs is the dinner vegan or do you use ghee, milk, honey, etc?

Thank you. And Hare Krishna!

A.H.

Answer: They are Krishnan

The Sunday feast includes both vegan and non-vegan preparations since Krishna is not vegan. Whatever is offered to Krishna becomes completely transcendental to vegan/non-vegan.

Feel free to ask which preps are vegan and we will be happy to facilitate you!
