Who Is the Real Number One?
In this material world we are taught to first and foremost love ourselves. In this connection there is a popular saying: You've got to take care of number one. What this saying assumes is that you are number one, that your first business is to love yourself. In this connection there is a nice example. If the hand thinks that it is number one and tries to get the nutrition it needs by squeezing food between its fingers instead of feeding the stomach, it will not be successful. It is only when the hand realizes that it must feed the belly that it will get the nutrition it needs. Similarly it is only when we realize that Krishna is number one and is therefore that person to whom all of our love should be channeled that our lives become happy, peaceful, and successful.

Question: Is Serving Krishna Fun?
We are very happy, that your blessings give us such opportunity to take care of cows. It is wonderful.Krishna appeared on the earth five thousand years ago. So did people know God's name as Krishna before that?
Is the service for Krishna fun, or is it sometimes difficult and boring? If we find it to be difficult should we change our service? In Goloka Vrindavan serving Krishna is always fun, but since we are serving Krishna all the time in the material world shouldn't our service here always be fun?
Thank you for guiding us.

Answer: If We Are Krishna Conscious, It's Always Fun
Your cows are beautiful. I am so happy to see how nicely you are taking care of the cows.He is called Krishna in the Brahma Samhita composed millions of years ago by Lord Brahma. So He was certainly known as Krishna long before He appeared on the earth 5,000 years ago.
Serving Krishna is the supreme fun, even if it is sometimes difficult. So it is not at all boring. But if we have an enjoying mood, we will find difficulty sometimes in practicing Krishna consciousness. And if we fully embrace the mood of always serving Krishna with love and devotion, we will experience great happiness even in the most difficult situations as the special mercy of Krishna. So if we ever find difficulty in our service, instead trying to change our service, we should simply try to change our mentality by kicking out the enjoying mood and embracing wholeheartedly the service mood. This will bring us to the platform of unlimited pleasure in any and all circumstances.
