Lord Krishna's devotee cannot tolerate the sufferings of the conditioned souls who are caught up in the cycle of birth and death. It is too much painful for him to see their endless miseries. Therefore he fully dedicates his life for awakening the dormant Krishna consciousness that is sleeping in the hearts of all living beings. He is even willing, if the Lord so desires, to take birth after birth in this material world to serve the mission of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, which is to inundate the entire universe with Krishna consciousness, pure love of God.

While eating lunch at my work place a question was asked by a non-devotee, who is also a non-vegetarian, as to why we don’t eat onions and garlic. I explained whatever I could, but I’m curious to know the convincing answer that I could give next time if asked.

Answer: These Fool's Foods Stink

We only take the prasadam of Krishna, and Krishna does not take onions and garlic. It's very obvious that these foods stink. They have a very foul odor. Hence they are the foods of fools. Of course those persons who are in the lower modes of material nature may think that onions and garlic are heavenly. These fools are compared to the hogs who relish the taste and aroma of juicy stool.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
