Herculean Effort Required to Save the World
We have been tasked by our ISKCON Founder-Acharya, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, with the mission of doing the highest humanitarian welfare work for the suffering humanity by making the entire world Krishna conscious as soon as possible. In the midst of the most materialistic age of Kali this is no doubt a herculean task of unparalelled proportions. Success in carrying out such a herculean task requires the special mercy of Lord Caitanya, for which we must constantly beg, as well as a herculean effort from us. Therefore we should abandon material sense gratification and apply our full energy for making the entire world Krishna conscious as soon as possible. This way we will be fully happy and we can make the entire world peaceful and happy.

Question: Why Non-Devotees Don't Appreciate Krishna?
In your recent reply to one Mr. Amit, you said that if one has a loving relationship with Krishna, all other relationship become better and not bitter, just as feeding the belly nourishes all other parts of the body. The best way to improve loving relationship with Krishna, is to preach His word, to tell about His teachings to others. But when I did that even my existing relationship with my ex-friends broke. They are not replying to my mails, call me a bigot. (Both friends from Hindu and other religions,)In fact now they look upon me as their enemy, and they even refused to help my old mother when she needed urgent help. Earlier they were helpful. So the relationship has become bitter, for sure. Please let me know why?
In this connection I would like to know if Srila Prabhupada could maintain good relationship with Mayavadis who didn’t like his sermons?
Thanks
Your worthless servant,

Answer: Only a Rare Soul Appreciates Krishna
Sometimes the doctor gives his patient medicines that are bitter. Does mean that he does not have a good relationship with his patients? No. He is certainly their genuine well-wisher. If someone thinks that their doctor is bad because the medicine is bitter, that is their stupidity. It is not a fault of the doctor. It is their fault. From the doctor's side the relationship is good. Only a fool will not appreciate a qualified physician. The greatest doctor of all is the devotee of Krishna because he can cure the disease of the soul which has forced the living being to remain caught up in the cycle of birth and death for millions of lifetimes. Those who are genuinely seeking higher knowledge will always appreciate the devotees. But those who are addicted to sense gratification may hate the devotees and even sometimes try to kill them as the attempt was made with Jesus Christ.
