Leading the World Out of Chaos
Srila Prabhupada has given us the mission of leading the entire world civilization out of chaos. This mission has come down to us in disciplic succession having originated from Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu Himself. Until the entire world becomes Krishna consciousness we cannot rest easy that our work is finished. Until then we must endeavor like anything with great determination to save the poor souls of this world from their entanglement in the cycle of birth and death.

Vāstu (Vedic architectural principles) such as constructing a building on land that has ample room for trees and greenery, while not absolutely required, are favorable for Krishna consciousness and can be accepted. But vāstu is only a secondary consideration. For example, many of our ISKCON temples which provide excellent service for the devotees in their community are in the middle of cities and have no greenery at all. This clearly violates vāstu but it is okay. Higher than the principle of vāstu is to do whatever is favorable for Krishna consciousness. This principle overrides all other considerations.

Question: Are Astrology and Vāstu Required?
How does a devotee in Krishna Consciousness view astrology and vāstu? If a devotee does not practice astrology and vāstu, will there be impediments in his devotional life?Best Regards,
Kumar
Answer: Krishna Consciousness is a Higher Principle
When one surrenders to Krishna he is no longer under the influence of the stars. Therefore for him, astrology is not very important.Vāstu (Vedic architectural principles) such as constructing a building on land that has ample room for trees and greenery, while not absolutely required, are favorable for Krishna consciousness and can be accepted. But vāstu is only a secondary consideration. For example, many of our ISKCON temples which provide excellent service for the devotees in their community are in the middle of cities and have no greenery at all.
